IT'S SPAMPIRE!

Yes it's Spampire. The Vampiric, Fez wearing pork luncheon meat who is telekinetic and can change size at will. Although he can appear quite scary, most of the time he just needs a cuddle.

Lasstranaut?
She's another cool Ashley Wood character.
An astronaut who apparently has no need for trousers or undies.

Ashley Wood "SQUARE" Lego Style!

Hands up those who love Ashley Wood's art!
Well I do and I bet there's lots of you out there who do too.
Here is a Lego version of the very, very cute SQUARE from Ashley's
"World War Robot".
He's about the size of the 1/6 Squares by the very cool toy company THREEA (about 4" tall), but he has four lego train weights in him, so he's pretty heavy. With movable legs and a toothy grin he's super cute, so go make one or better still get yourself a 3A version, they're awesome!

That Gun Again! Lego Blade Runner Blaster revisited

Some more picks of the Lego Blaster slightly modified (not much!). Closer dimensions to the original (after finding some measurements online) a bit narrower in the main body. As you can see the grip is half way brown, just need to get those pesky brown curved bricks. Have also part modeled new triggers and trigger guard in lego digital designer, but still need to get those pieces.

Channeling Rainbow Brite?

Hiya, I know it's been a while since I uploaded anything, but here's 2 new paintings.  One is a redo of a painting I did on a tea tray, now on canvas.  The other isn't quite finished yet.  There's a hula girl still to go in.

Sorry, the picture quality isn't the greatest.  It was taken on my compact.

Really need to get back in the swing of things, I've been lazy recently!

Lego Blade Runner Blaster

Here is my Lego Blade Runner (Deckards) Blaster. This bad boy is full size and heavy too, it's got 4 train weights inside it. I don't think it looks too bad and it is a work in progress. I've already upgraded the design on lego digital designer, so if I can get the parts I will put the new version on some time in the future.

Need any lego replicants taken care of?
I love Blade Runner,  Neil

I had a cracking time in Alaska.........

One wrong step on a slippery floor, and I break my Radius and chip the end off my Ulna!  Heaps of swelling, I don't recommend it!  It's given me a few ideas for paintings though...........

The Shining, Lego style!

I love art, but I also love movies and lego. One of our favorite movies is The Shining and this is my attempt at recreating a classic scene in lego form. Hope you like it, I may try some more in the future and will post (watch out for Deckard's blaster from Blade Runner lego-ized!)

HOUSE 6?

Yes, this is house 6, I know what you're thinking, what happened to 4 and 5?.
4 and 5 were just little paintings done for friends and were gone before I could photograph them. This guy is 5x7 and was painted early 2011.

It's floaty light!

Hiya folks, I've not been updating this thing very often, but I'll hopefully have some more stuff to show you soon........in the meantime, here is a painting by a guy called Zach Franzen. Wish I could buy it. I'm lovin' it.

Hope everybody is well. Inga (aka Orkneylass). :-)

HOUSE 3 : Attack of the...............?

The third installment in the house 8 part(so far) trilogy???.  This one is a mini version of House 2 and was painted specifically for our friend Miss Curly Top. It's only 2"x3" and is custom fitted in a tiny perspex box frame (from 2008).

Tiny house craziness in perspex Hannibal Lecter cage (just in case!).
Neil

"HOUSE 2 : The Return!!!"

Here's another house painting from 2008. Painted in a looser style it was the second in what seems to be a series and is a lot bigger than the last one measuring 9"x20". It was painted on the backing board of a cool long frame, then put in the frame back to front(?).

Desert colour craziness!

"IT'S TIME FOR HOUSE"

Here's the first of my house paintings. I don't know where the idea for this little house came from but it's popped up in 7 paintings so far (I may be having a Close Encounters moment!) Anyway this was the first, painted in 2008 and more to come.

Is it big grass or just a tiny house?

Mid Century Dream 5"x4" Acrylic on canvas

A little surprise collaboration Neil and I did last year.

I'd hoped to do a painting with Neil for some time but it didn't eventuate. When my attempt at this red, brown and yellow background seemed to be going nowhere, I decided to leave the canvas for another day. I thought either myself or someone else would paint over it. Then one day, like magic, a really cool mid century house appeared on it and sunny day to go with it. Inspired by Bosko's cool houses, Neil made my nothing into something ....... and finally, we had a collaborative piece.

Dude!

Just saw this new painting by Dave MacDowell. Already sold, but maybe he'll do a print run!

http://www.macdowellstudio.com/?p=429

Awesome.

Some (unfinished) stuff......

Hey folks, here are 2 paintings I've done, but not finshed yet. Will get them completed at some point!

Orkneylass

My first attempt painting on wood. Not framed, just done on an old tray!

Spent ages doing this. Kept changing my mind about the colours!

Jeremy Geddes, we salute you

Last night UK time, a print by Jeremy Geddes went on sale and was sold out in seconds. The image is titled "A Perfect Vacuum."

In 2005 Neil and I were lucky enough to have seen an exhibition by Jeremy Geddes in Outre gallery. It was the first time we had seen his work and we were just blown away by how amazing his paintings were.

There is an article about Jeremy Geddes in Hi Fructose magazine Volume 15. Being from Melbourne myself but now living so far away from the city I love, his familiar streetscapes leave me yearning for more.

If you haven't yet seen his work, be prepared to enter a completely realistic, otherworldly life. You'll see what I mean! http://www.jeremygeddesart.com/

SKULLS!!!

Saw drunk guys in the street trying to skate on a skateboard with no wheels. I managed to salvage the board, chop it up and paint this.

Another strange find, the metal on this piece is from an old door lock. I put some canvas board inside and painted this tiny skull. The whole piece is only 1"x2.5"

.....No I don't have a fixation with skulls. Neil

Space walkways

These are both photographs that we took of ceiling's in 2 different shopping centre's. We doubled them up and flipped them to create these crazy images. They look like something from some kind of spaceship!

Anyone been watching this?

Has anyone else been watching Show Me The Monet on BBC1?

It's actually quite a good show, the artists pieces are judged on emotional content, technique and originality. The judges don't just put through something because it's "contempoary" or "modern", a lot of the stuff I wouldn't necessarily hang on my own wall, but I can see the merit it in.

Although, on tonight's episode there was a former GP who had submitted her work.......it was only the 5th painting she'd done !!! I wish I could paint half as well! Well worth a look, so I've put the link below.
